Description
HOW AN eLsa™ ACTIVITY SENSING WORKS
When an eLsa™ Activity Sensing is active, it detects infrared from the area it has been designed to survey. When a person enters the surveyed area both sensors pick up the presence (viz. IR and movement) of the person. If a person falls while still within the range of the device and the top sensor cannot now detect the presence of the person while the bottom one can, which causes the eLsa™ Activity Sensing to send out a fall alarm.
The eLsa™ Smart Detector
is a tubular, waterproof device (IP44) used for action and falling sensing.
It uses PIR (Passive Infrared) sensors. It includes a radio transceiver operating at the ISM band that sends telegrams to eLsa™ Gateway or eLsa™ Base station.
The device is easy to mount with screws or double-sided adhesive tape.
The eLsa™ Smart Detectors have a specific operational range and direction. The vertical detection angles of the eLsa™ Smart Detectors’ two PIR sensors are shown in figure 1.
